Technology from Sage: Lean Library Workspace

This guide offers students and researchers support on using Lean Library Workspace

Creating Projects

You can add a new private or shared project by clicking the + button next to the relevant heading in the left-hand pane of the main Lean Library Workspace page:

Editing a project

If you hover your pointer over a project, you'll see a menu (3 vertical dots) icon appear:

Clicking this will give you various options for the project.

Changing the View Mode

There are a couple of things you can do to get a bit more screen space - You can change from list view to table view, and hide the side panel using the icons marked below:

This will change the display to give you more references visible on the screen. You can use the eye icon to specify which fields to display, and click on any field heading to sort references by that field in ascending or descending order:

Using Tags

You can use tags in both private and shared projects to further organize references. You can apply tags individually in List view:

Or in bulk by selecting the checkboxes of the references you wish to tag and clicking the tag icon:

If you're in table view, you'll see the option to add tags to an individual reference by scrolling the table to the right:

Once you've created your tags, you'll see them listed in the left-hand pane, under your projects. Simply click on a tag to quickly return all tagged references:

Editing Metadata

To edit reference metadata, click on the reference from either All references or within a project and you'll be taken to the reference detail page. Then just click on the options (3 vertical dots) icon and select Edit to open the edit metadata window:

You’ll have the option to update metadata via an identifier (DOI, PMID), or make edits manually.
